Kaua'i Creative Academy

This coming year we will be providing school 5 days per week from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and reserving 'Aloha Fridays' for enrichment days! Miss Ilima will have another full-time teacher co-teaching three days per week and several enrichment teachers who specialize in both academics and movement arts! This will include, specialty teacher instruction, field trips, nature activities, home economics, gardening activities, woodworking, malama the 'aina and more!

 

Kaua'i Creative Academy is designed to inspire life-long learners, developing the WHOLE child through the five senses, project-based lessons, academic curriculum including Montessori and Waldorf methods with hands-on tactile learning. We utilize Jacob's Ladder Gifted and Talented Students Language Arts curriculum, which is designed to deepen students understanding of their own thought processes, morals, values, and ideas. For science we utilize  “The Magical Garden” curriculum which includes a vast project-based thematic approach, utilizing elements from the kingdom of Mother Earth.  And the fourth main area of academia, is indigenous cultural integration and environmental studies.

For the artistic portion of our curriculum we cover topics such as yoga, acro-yoga, aerial silks, gymnastics, classical ballet, modern dance, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, music basics and singing. For the visual arts we offer lessons in a variety of painting and drawling techniques, arts and crafts.

And for Friday enrichment days we offer but are not limited to the following: Gardening, surfing, snorkeling, cooking, sewing, weaving, plant medicine,  beach clean up, sports, game playing, dress-up, acting, and community outreach.
