Ilima loves teaching children! She was raised in a tribe, surrounded by elders and given many wisdom activations as a child. She has always known she was meant to teach and has devoted her life to creating "out of the box" curriculum for the children who are tuned-in and very creative. Ilima is naturally gifted in facilitating the development of alliances between old man academia and the new paradigm of creative wisdom seekers. She is a guardian of the culture that honors a child's evolution through the exploration and expansion of their innate curriculum, their connection to higher consciousness, and their heart-centeredness. Ilima continues to craft a rich, expansive curriculum where project-based learning, holistic movement, a deep love of nature, and joyful well-being come together to inspire every child.

Ilima holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She earned her teaching credentials from the State of Hawaii in 2010 and has served as the principal of Kauaʻi Creative Academy for over 15 years.

Throughout her career, Ilima has dedicated herself to supporting students across the island, contributing her expertise at Kilauea Elementary School, Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, and Kapaa High School. She was also appointed by the State of Hawaii as the Kauaʻi Island Child Advocate, ensuring thoughtful and effective educational plans for students in need.

Above all, Ilima is deeply passionate about guiding the growth, development, and self-discovery of each child, nurturing their unique gifts and helping them reach their fullest potential in a loving, aloha-centered environment.
