Elementary (K-3rd Grade)
Kauai Creative Academy recognizes that every child has an innate curriculum and a passion to learn what they are uniquely here to do. Our multi-age classroom will nurture your Child’s divine intelligence and inherent gifts as it encourages social and emotional development, leadership, responsibility, a sense of caring, and the ability to build authentic relationships with self and others. Lasting friendship and a feeling of family are inherent in this type of environment.
Our patient and compassionate teachers recognize every child is unique and has an individual pattern and timing for increased awareness, growth and capacity to learn. Each day we diligently set the stage to evolve the consciousness of the student’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. As a result, students look forward to attending school each day and become inspired artists, excellent communicators, confident leaders, and heart-centered conscious co-creators.
A Well-Rounded Alternative Education
Aloha KCA Families,
We’re delighted to share what’s ahead for this bright and beautiful school year!
Kaua‘i Creative Academy will be in session from August 13, 2025, with classes held Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Our days are rooted in joyful learning, creative exploration, and a deep respect for the whole child.
Each week, students engage in a rich variety of experiences led by passionate and talented enrichment teachers. Our project-based academic curriculum is thoughtfully inspired by both Waldorf and Montessori philosophies, nurturing curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
In addition to academics, keiki are immersed in the arts, movement, and nature-based education. They enjoy a wide range of activities, including:
-
Movement & Performing Arts: yoga, acro-yoga, aerial silks, gymnastics, classical ballet, modern dance, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, music fundamentals, and singing.
-
Visual Arts: painting, drawing, mixed-media techniques, and hands-on crafts.
-
Nature & Skills-Based Learning: sports, gardening, wilderness skills, building, carving, and more.
Each month, we set aside a special day dedicated to enrichment and adventure, with experiences designed to align with seasonal rhythms and the natural world. Field trips and thematic activities may include surfing, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, cooking, sewing, weaving, herbal medicine, beach cleanups, games, dress-up days, theater, and community outreach projects.
As a private academy, we maintain small class sizes to provide personalized attention and a high-quality, heart-centered education. Our school year runs from August through May, and we ask families to commit to our 10-month, two-semester program to ensure continuity and growth.
At the end of each semester, we gather to celebrate our students’ learning through presentations and performances that showcase their creativity, confidence, and progress. These heartfelt events are a highlight of the year for families and a beautiful way to honor each child’s journey.
We look forward to another year of wonder, discovery, and meaningful connection with your keiki!
With warm aloha,
Miss Ilima Morris & the KCA Faculty

Monthly field trips include visits to anthropological sights, museums, area farms, local businesses, parks, salt ponds, fish ponds, hikes, beaches, and more. We are currently working towards a yearly class trips to the outer islands for additional exposure and educational expansion.
