Elementary Education
Kauai Creative Academy recognizes that every child has an innate curriculum and a passion to learn what they are uniquely here to do. We strive to provide students with the the exact information for their personal expansion as well as keep them up to date on grade level academics. Subjects are designed to inspire life-long learners, independent thinkers, question askers, leaders and ultimately conscious healthy creators of a more joyful reality.
Our multiage classroom will nurture your Child’s divine intelligence and inherent gifts as it encourages social and emotional development, leadership, responsibility, a sense of caring, and the ability to build authentic relationships with self and others. Lasting friendship and a feeling of family are inherent in this type of environment.
Our patient and compassionate teachers recognize every child is unique and has an individual pattern and timing for increased awareness, growth and capacity to learn. Each day we diligently set the stage to evolve the consciousness of the student’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. As a result, students look forward to attending school each day and become inspired artist, excellent communicators, confident learners and heart centered conscious co-creators.
Kauai Creative Academy is designed to inspire life-long learners, developing the WHOLE child through the five senses, project-based lessons, academic curriculum, cultural studies, movement arts and outdoor environmental awareness studies. We also include other progressive language arts curriculum to cover grammar, and offer a wonderful book club to inspire students to read. The third area is science, we love “The Magical Garden” curriculum which includes a vast project-based thematic approach, utilizing the entire kingdom of Earth and Sky. The fourth area we cover is cultural and environmental studies. This includes indigenous teachings from cultural around the world as well as Hawaiian mele, olelo, hula, lau'lapaou and ho'o'pono'pono.
Every other Friday we offer field trips and provide enrichment activities that correlate to the seasons, solar system, agricultural and oceanic motions.
The artistic elements of our program includes: Visual arts, movement arts, music, yoga, acro-yoga, aerial silks, gymnastics, singing, instruments, creative movement, ballet, tap, hip hop, modern and lyrical dance, theater arts, painting, crafting, weaving, and more.
We function as private academy and keep small class sizes to provide the highest quality education possible. Our 2-semester program requires a 10-month commitment from every family. Multi-Age Classroom
Our Elementary Program builds on the earlier project based experiences and further develops good working habits, independence, self-assurance and the ability to concentrate. The elementary years are filled with rich experiences in math, language, science (botany to geography), art, music, cultural studies and social emotional intelligence. The materials we utilize bring alive these areas while helping the child bridge the steps from concrete understanding to more abstract reasoning. Problem solving and critical thinking skills are further developed in all areas of the classroom and students are given a sense of connection and unity with their environment, the world and the universe.
KCA offers multi-aged classrooms with two three-year Elementary cycles. Our Lower Elementary program is equivalent to 1st through 3rd grades and our Upper Elementary program to 4th through 6th grades. An effective experience depends on the increased possibilities for self-paced learning in a classroom with a range of ages and stages of development.
Field Trips
Every other Friday we hold field trips. Field trips are an integral part of our KCA curriculum. Monthly field trips include visits to anthropological sights, museums, area farms, local businesses, parks, salt ponds, fish ponds, hikes, beaches, and more. We are currently working towards a yearly class trips to the outer islands for additional exposure and educational expansion.

KCA offers electives in music, dance, choir, art, basic auto maintenance, nature building, gardening, medicine making, cooking, gymnastics, aerial silks, yoga, meditation, and theatre.
